Position Overview:
This position is the first level in the Project Management Career Path. The primary responsibility of this position is to support the development and integration of systems to support customers. Incumbents in this position are viewed as partners to IT teams and use their understanding of business operations to help build a sound vision and comprehensive solutions to meet customer needs.
Responsibilities:
General Job Duties
- Drive projects through original concept and development to final implementation.
- Use knowledge of business operations to understand information needs of the organization and determine best technology to meet the needs.
- Resolve IT project related problems.
- Manage small to medium level projects.
- Assist in establishing program budget and timelines; manage program within budget and time constraints.
- Demonstrated ability to assist in the creation of application/business roadmaps for multiple years.
- Perform other duties as required.
Specific Job Duties
- Lead small to medium software development projects.
- Work closely with cross-functional global teams including external vendors.
- Ensure usage of software development initiatives using the Agile Unified Process (AUP) and/or other Agile processes.
- Implement and train PMO processes to project teams.
Organizational Relationships
- Reports directly to the PMO Director.
- Interacts with senior management in business units supported.
- Acts in a lead capacity on mid-to-large programs and may have limited direct supervisory responsibility.
- Interacts with other colleagues at all levels in the conduct of day-to-day activities.
External Relationships
- Primary contacts are internal to the organization.
- Actively participates in industry forums and user groups.
- Minimal contact with external customers.
FLSA Status - US Only
Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in business systems and/or applications development and implementation.
- Proven track record of cross functional team partnership.
- Strong knowledge of IT systems and environments.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully implement programs within budget and time constraints.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead a program team.
- Must be able to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel at all levels of the organization.
- Professional certification as warranted.
