Network Operations Engineer

Position Overview:

ChargePoint is currently seeking a Network Operations Engineer. The Network Operations Engineer reports to the VP, Software Engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Proactively monitor and troubleshoot large networks of EV charging stations.
• Build and deploy tools and create processes to automate network management tasks.
• Work closely with development engineers to deploy software, troubleshoot networks, and provide closed-loop feedback.
• Provide technical support to distribution and sales partners via e-mail, phone, and other media.
• Provide technical escalation support to EV drivers and station owners.
• Provide training to clients and partners in the use of systems and applications related to the ChargePoint® Network Operations Center. 

Qualifications:

Position Requirements

• Strong background in IP network troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of Unix/Linux shell commands, scripting and tools.
• Basic understanding of PPP and cellular data communications.
• Experience with Rackspace/AWS.
• Superlative communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Fanatical dedication to customer support, with skills and experience to match.
• Able to work independently, yet cooperatively in a team.
• Self-motivated, curious, sweats the details, hungry to learn, lives for nines.
• Calm under fire, meets deadlines, greets stress with a smile.

Differentiators

• LAMP system administration methods and tools.
• Computer and electrical hardware troubleshooting.

• Degree in computer science, software engineering, or similar; or relevant history.
