Telesis specializes in project development and project management with emphasis on construction management in the power generation industry. We are active in coal and gas fired, wind, and other renewable energy source facilities.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a Business Development Director to provide instant and long term impact to the growth of a small, privately held project management consulting firm in the US. You will be the face of our business development efforts in the renewable energy industry, with a primary focus on wind and solar energy projects.
Responsibilities:
Analyze our capabilities, competitive market position & market opportunity in the renewable energy market to create & execute market entry & growth strategy
Evaluate our recent business development strategy/infrastructure and undertake necessary changes to facilitate market growth
Distinguish market trends & changes in competitive landscape, and lead initiatives inside to maintain our competitive edge
Lead overall business development strategy across the board for the renewable energy market, to create a robust pipeline of project opportunities
Cultivate, negotiate and capture renewable energy business opportunities
Collaborate with project delivery team to cultivate relationships with clients, and provide high-level support to project delivery team
Procure, cultivate and nurture relationships with the key players across the industry value chain (Utilities, EPC Firms, Independent Power Producers, Financiers, Technology Suppliers, Developers) to give us the competitive advantage for project opportunities
Analyze project risk/reward trade-offs, that include contract terms & financial strength of potential clients to alleviate exposure & aggrandize potential risk-adjusted project return
Qualifications:
BS or BA required
At least 8-10 years experience in the engineering & construction and/or power industry, with proven background in project development & management
Hands-on experience in the pursuit & management of large-scale power projects (renewable energy experienced professionals required)
Combination of experience with construction, utility & engineering firms preferred
Direct work experience in solar/wind energy project development preferred
Extensive travel (all parts of the US)
Skills/Knowledge:
Detailed understanding of the power industry, & the evolving role that renewable energy will play in the market
Direct experience in or detailed understanding of wind and solar construction
Detailed understand of market drivers for renewable energy, that includes public policy, regulation & tax incentives
Ability to interface with different teams (technical, engineering, business development, management)
