Located in Maryland, Standard Solar is a private equity backed, early phase company led by a veteran management team experienced in growing companies.  The Vice President of Leasing and Credit Management role presents an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys the operational challenges of developing a company in the rapidly growing renewable energy market. 

Position Overview:

Directly reporting to the company's Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Vice President of Leasing and Credit Management is responsible for the development and administration of the company's lease practices, policies and objectives, and responsible for the company's overall lease portfolio and overall credit administration. 

Responsibilities:

1. Manage, develop and direct the credit administration functions, including lease underwriting, analysis, credit review, risk assessment, and lease asset recovery.

2. Formulate, revise and implement credit administration policy, procedures and practices. Ensure that proposed leases adhere to existing policy guidelines, documentation is sufficient to ensure security of the collateral and the administration and review is adequate to maintain the lease portfolio's quality and profitability.

3. Maintain a current knowledge of changing legislation and regulatory climate and recommends changes to the company's credit policies and procedures.

4. Direct lease review activities designed to evaluate credit risk and maintain the integrity of the credit rating system. Provide technical guidance to staff in the interpretation of data. Approve or reject, within lending authority, the most complex or sizable leases, where difficult questions of policy or credit risk may be involved.

5. Oversee regulatory compliance with federal and state regulations for the company. Submit accurate and timely reports as required by senior management and regulatory agencies.

6. Prepare and present underwriting conclusions in credit applications to an internal credit committee and provide strong support for credit recommendations

7. Develop strategies to improve non-performing leases, reduce delinquencies, maximize recoveries and minimize losses. Identifies potential problem credits and provides guidance to staff in restructuring the credit and/or minimizing losses.

8. Analyzes the adequacy of the allowance for lease losses for discussion with executive management.

9. Manage customer relationships effectively during the underwriting process and keep the sales team appropriately involved, as needed.

10. Establish all internal administration systems based on policy to successfully manage and report on the lease portfolio performance.

11. Provide staff with proper tools and authority to execute their assigned functions. Develop skills of staff through goal-setting, coaching, training and performance management.

12. Maintain a professional staff with sufficient knowledge base, skills, and experience to successfully execute and complete their functions.

Qualifications:  

Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college or university with major coursework in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting; 8 to 10 years experience in residential and commercial financing. 

The successful candidate will have experience understanding and underwriting, structuring, covenanting, risk-rating and pricing simple and complex lease transactions.  The individual should have completed formal credit training, have a thorough understanding of credit principles and have mastered the technical requirements of analysis. 

The candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills and able to work effectively with the company's customers, sales team and executive management.
