Mechanical Engineer

Southern Energy Management, North Carolina's leading provider of building efficiency and solar power solutions, seeks a part-time mechanical engineer to join our fast-growing solar team.
Responsibilities:
Engineer large-scale (10 to 200 collector) solar thermal systems.
Work with project manager, sales and costing team, code officials and suppliers on technical issues.
Qualifications:
Mechanical engineering (or solar engineering) experience, and/or strong industrial pump/heat transfer engineering background.
PE stamp in NC, SC and VA.
Fluent in CAD drawings.
Fluent in materials take offs.
Clean and valid drivers license, and willing to travel to installation sites as needed for projects.
Understand commercial plumbing and mechanical codes.
Ability to take initiative and work independently while also collaborating in a team environment.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills required, both with internal team and clients.
Thrives as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Strong commitment to sustainable energy and dedication to long-term vision of SEM a must.
Part-Time Position: Projects start in early 2009 Location(s): NC, SC and VA - minor travel required
