A fast-casual restaurant concept in Boston, MA., opened in June 2007 and designated as the First Certified Green Fast Food Restaurant in the US looking for partners to help establish 10 restaurants in the next 5 years.
Grille Zone has three very distinct attributes, that when combined constitute one of the most unique restaurant business models anywhere. In short Grille Zone is: A 24+ seat quick casual restaurant serving a focused and very high quality menu of all fresh/never frozen Americana foods that are primarily locally grown or produced by small local entrepreneurial businesses; The FIRST Certified Green Fast Food Restaurant (TM), in the United States.
Through our ability to compost or recycle virtually every item that enters the restaurant, including all of our disposable food serving wares, Grille Zone is as close to a zero-waste stream restaurant as is practically possible; A Certified Green Restaurant (TM) that uses some of the most energy efficient equipment made in the world in its day-to-day operations, as well as having been built-out using many non-traditional, sustainable and recycled building materials. As an outcome of these efforts and our resulting low carbon footprint, Grille Zone has been named the First Certified Green Fast Food Restaurant TM in the United States by the Green Restaurant Association, as well as holding the distinction of being in the Top 5% of all Certified Green Restaurants TM in the nation.
